L.O.V.E.

It amazes me how often the word “Love” is used in our society without the full understanding of what it really means. Many of us have at some time or another claimed to have love for either someone or something, but fall short of the actual demonstration of it.  Love is an action word in which we call a “verb” in our English language.  In order for the word to be received by another party it needs to be a demonstration in which the other party is benefited.  Have you ever been told by someone “I Love You!” but their actions don’t reflect their proclamation at all.  This can be very confusing and frustrating for anyone especially children.

I want to share with you what God tells us love looks like so we can compare it to our perception of love.  Here are a few scriptures that I use as a mirror to reflect the love of God in my relationships with others.

” For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He even gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever  believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.” John 3:16 AMP.

“Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.  It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly.  Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].  It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.  Love bears up under anything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything without weakening.  Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end.]”   I Corinthians 13: 4-8 AMP.

You see when we choose to love God’s way everybody wins!

Love and Blessings Always!
