Overcome Trials and Temptations!

You can overcome anything you face by the power of the Word of God.  There is nothing that is too hard for God, so there is nothing too hard for you.  Take time to study the Word of God and find out what it says about your situation.  When we choose to study and meditate on God’s Word and do what it says, victory will come.  ” For I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the deep and intimate knowledge of Him, by having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints; And so that you can know and understand what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength which he exerted in Christ when he raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named , not only in this age but also in the age and world which are to come.” Ephesians 1:17- 21   Amen!

Here are some scriptures to help you begin using your faith to overcome any trials, challenges or temptations in your life.

” Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be people perfectly and fully developed with no defects, lacking in nothing.”  James 1:3-4

” If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God Who gives to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.  Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering nor hesitating nor doubting.  For the one who wavers is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything he asks from the Lord, for being as he is a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), he is unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything he thinks, feels and decides.”   James 1: 5-8

“Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive the victor’s crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.  Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by what is evil and He Himself tempts no one. But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions). Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death.” James 1: 13-15

“So get rid of all uncleanness, and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble(gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted in your hearts contains the power to save your souls. But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth. James 1:21-22

” Because you have guarded and kept My word of patient endurance [ have held fast the lesson of My patience with the expectant endurance that I give you], I also will keep you safe from the hour of trial (testing) which is coming on the whole world to try those who dwell upon the earth.” Revelation 3:10-11
